#79280 - Some more clarifications... Responding to: ???'s previous message |
Hi Sekhar,
that is, in some places i have seen single chip in which all the codings are embedded and there will be panels at each of the controlling end to show the display. I am not sure if you are talking about distributed I/O with a CPU running in a PLC setup. The single chip that you are referring could be the CPU in the PLC. in some industries i have seen a computer which will have the blue print of the plant and the displays will be in the same window. Yes these are called mimic displays and are normally used in process plants ( refineries, fertilizer plants to name a few ) where the total I/O counts run into hundreds and thousands. The other typical names for such displays are HMI ( Human Machine Interface ) MMI ( Man Machine Interface etc. For more information, look up the net with key words of Distibuted I/O, PLC, SCADA. And on the aspect of using C# to code for 8bit controllers, other senior forum members have answered your query in detail. I don't think there is any confusion in this regard further. PS : But what happened to your AC plant control project - still ON ? Raghu |
