#8110 - Could the chips in computers be salvaged |
I have several nonfuntional computers. I've looked inside and I see things like intel 8051. I might have seen some bios chips. And also what appear to be memory chips.
Could I remove these chips, communicate with them and use them? I have programed a 8015 before, and have slightly opperated a 8051. But they were the type that have flashs. I could use those to set up comunications to the salvaged chips. Removing them from the motherboard might be a moderatly tricky. Also identifing the chip might be a bit tricky. I'm surprised that on the internet I have not been able to identify several semiconductors. These computers are from the 89 or 91 so maybee they will not have chips faster than 3 MHz. On the otherhand some of the Memory seems kind of big. |
