------------------------------- Can aka j explain why recycling paper or metals or car parts is good thing and recycling electronics is a bad one? - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Yes, easily. Recycled paper and metals are melted down to their basic materials, filtered, and then restored to a state of their raw material. That raw material is then poured and shaped into a new product. Note too that that product is marked "recycled" when sold in many parkets. If Bannister salavge his ICs and melted them down to molten ceramic, silicon and metals, filtered them to remove process contaminants and then used those raw materials to fabricate new components, he could call them "recycled" and no one would have a problem with his product. He might not be in business long as that process would be foolishly expensive. aka j |
