As I have mentioned, the P89C668 would be nice, if it would have the 128-byte blocks similar to the V. On the other hand, 8 kB is quite a lot, so maybe it is enough to use the FLASH as the EPROM in the old system (adding only erase of the upper 32k), debug the program in RAM then just burn it... This is easy, the problem is, I don't have the chip to test it (and these must be ordered, and sometimes it is impossible to get sample amount...) And it is around for some time - isn't it going obsolete shortly (some of the Philips' micros tend to live quite short)? I had no oportunity to try the SiLabs chips, (although I read many good references to them); maybe start now? But I have already ordered the ADuC... Jan Waclawek |
