#85461 - 8255
Responding to: ???'s previous message
Hello,
Gopal is right, most of college still teaches 8085, and 8051 to some extent. There for we have to use 8255 chip or we got habbit of using 8255. I am not saying that each and every college teaches 8255, there are very few colleges who have very good curriculam also. But if you see an average college you will see 8085, 8255 and 8031/2 type SBC. In my college also thay teach us only 8085 and last year only thay have added 8051.
Pralhad do not compare Bit Pilani with Sabbo Siddique or Terna college. An average college still teaches 8085, and 8051 to some extent.
One of my freind did BE from Pune univarsity he got 1st class he is intellegent but he dont know I2C and how to drive LCD module becoz college does not teaches. Now he is doing course in embedded.
And yes certain components are not available in India. RS components can provide you but the cost are very high, average student or project maker will NOT efford it.

Regards.
