#88320 - Input to L297 with a micro pin |
Hello .... I am doing an application where I control a stepper motor with a L297 / L298 with an 8051 ( 89V51RD2). I have put together a circuit and tested the fucntionality which is working as per requirement. To make the device more reliable I need the following input : Is it okay to drive the L297 ( CLK, CW/CCW , EN )directly with the microcontrollers port pins ? Or should I provide optoisolation or any other bufferning ? The circuit which I have made , has the micro driving the L297 directly and it has been in testing for a couple of days continuous run on the test bench without any problems. Nevertheless I would appreciate design tips on this. Thanks for reading this . Thomas |
