So the optoisolation seems to be a bit " just in case ". Mak , yes I know about the current limiting , not really relevant to my post. Thanks for the alert , nevertheless. Erik , Whose design will work when the stepper motor burn out and is replaced with another brand? My feeling was that the stepper being wrongly corrected would end up in a blown L298 ( already did that once , by reversing the diodes ). How/who would the opto isolation protect ? Thanks Thomas |
