Text is essentially a one-dimensional "model" - great for sequential descriptions, but rubbish for parallelism, branching, etc. Just look at what happens here when people try to describe their circuits in words, rather than post a diagram! Diagrams definitely have the advantage when it comes to showing structure. Of course, whether an entirely diagramatic ("graphical") tool can generate efficient implementations is an entirely different question... |
