#91877 - Buying stuff in "local market"
Responding to: ???'s previous message

I brought serial data cable (for connec GD-50 to PC) for the same from market

"from [the] market" and "from [the] local market" seem to be quite common expressions here.

This may well be just a language and/or culture thing, but when I think of a "[local] market," I think of temporary, open-air stalls like this:
Basingstoke Market

or even like this:
A local market in Mozambique

Basingstoke market does, indeed, have a stall selling mobile phone accessories - but one would expect these to be "low-cost" items, rather than genuine manufacturer's originals.

So I'm interested to know: when you say you bought this cable, "from market," does that actually mean the same as I think it means?
