#92095 - Good!

Microsoft FAT file system patent revoked.

Good. Software-related patents are a slippery slope to start with. Trying to collect royalties on a file system that had pretty much been a standard for over two decades is just nasty. Especially when you consider that the royalties were relatively small--mostly, just enough of a nuisance to cause people to avoid using FAT (which would tend to reduce standarization) but not enough money to really effect Microsoft's monsterous bottom line.
