I would have to agree that letting the microcontroller have the easy task of a simple filesystem is the way to go. Good ol K.I.S.S. Also not to mention that fact that the controller will have other chores to preforme as well. The less time used in handling the file system the better.
I am also takeing a look in to SD cards now as well. As Craig mentioned they use SPI so that could be of some use instead of CF. But for now im going to keep looking in to this. And to Andys reply, the CF card is only removed in the situation where some sort of major disaster. Such as the controller dies/computer dies and nothing can be retrived. Hopefully the data on the CF card will remain intact to be analysed. But I will add more to this later on, lots of work to finish up on today. -Stephan |
