#93531 - outside of a board Responding to: ???'s previous message |
hi,

You don't seem to get it however.....adding your discrete components, if it could be made to work, will take just as much room as a small 8 pin SO-8 package. If your looking for re-work ideas buy the '485 drivers in 8-pin DIP and glue it upside down to the board and wire in to its leads.
The possible idea may be to put RS485 tranceiver into plug (D-SUB 9) of a network. It may require a small PCB inside the plug and the only problem is to provide the power for it. If main PCB is not a subject of changes then, I think, two wires from power lines to free pins of XS may help with it as well. Of course it is not good idea, but if nothing else... Regards, Oleg |
