Why bother, the next day someone will ask about ALE, then comes Xtal2 for those that use external oscillators .....

Some manufacturers (I know of Winbond) have made a 4 bit port4 for the PLCC44 versions. If you want it, use it.

It is so easy, when you run out of pins because you did not think it through before stating the design to fantasize about PSEN and EA and ALE and XTAL2 and ..... and .....
This is the equivalent of blaming the chip designer for code bugs.

Many problems (the latch of !EA etc) have been shown in the previous posts, there is a reason.
