#93996 - $1 in parts is not equal to $1 cost
Responding to: ???'s previous message
And I would rather give an extra $1 for a DIL40 89C51-like part, where EA/PSEN/ALE(/RESET) can be disabled by programmable fuses and used as general IO (maybe together with the 4 extra pins on the PLCC44 package).

And I don't think it would cost the manufacturer $1, not even $0.1.

Like many of the other kithcen sink ideas.

Perhaps it is really time to start gathering money to design and get manufactured THE 8052.com chip! (any idea how much could that be?)
