Payam Soltany:
I agree that for any country or regeon the local language mutates to best meet that countrys needs. Similiarly each generation seems to mutilate the local language as part of the separating from home process. These differences lead to missunderstanding when communicating across comunity boundarys or with different generations. To limit these confusions we respectfully request that all posters use standard english as found in the oxford dictionary. That way misunderstandings will be reduced and quality of replys enhanced. It is interesting to note that the really knowledgable participants always strive for maximum clarity while they give answers to the newer users. These same members seldom gain knowledge from threads or posts by new users. Among the new users there seem to be three easily identified groups. The english inhibited that try to communicate complex ideas with a very limited volcabulary. They always get help and are never treated harshly by the regulars here The mature new users that understand the need for concise communication skills to achieve there goals. Finally the (usually young) and arrogant that think the world must bend to there whim so they attempt to impose there local or personal gustoms here. They get less help that they otherwise would but that is due to the way they approached us not any other reason. It is this last group that has the hardest time in life as they carry a millstone until they realise that the world will not change for them but rather that they must match the world to succeed There is a wise saying "when in rome do as the romans do" Terry |
