Im using a Dallas c420 system in DIP format. The design board was created by me, not using any prototype board. Its your standard radioshack large sized perfboard. Least I can do that right :) I'm using loader420.exe which I believe is dallas's obsolete version of serial port loader software.
The assembler is that freeware assembler, dunno the name of it right now. Asembw.exe version 1.3. Sorry, I'm slightly intoxicated as of writing this. Ok, very intoxicated. Regardless, its all on freeware software or samples of the chip. I know others have suggested more applicable processors, and I'm sure there are others which would more than likely be suitable for my needs - but I have 25 of these things. lol. Regardless, Im off to bed to let my head clear up, and tomorrow night I shall start again on this project. I've been thinking lately about adding a serial flash rom ship to the project, allowing the data to be loaded on to this chip rather than streaming it serially. Seems like it would make it easier to use. As always, appreciate any suggestions or comments, provised they are not overly negative. There is a fine line between constructice critism and downright abusibe comments. Any thoughts? |
