#10203 - RE: Cygnal C8051FXXXX |
Hi Andy,
That's exactly what I mean. I've been doing a project where I'm interfacing the Cygnal chip to a ScanLogic usb chip. There's a fair amount to go wrong, so the Cygnal debugger has been invaluable to me. The program I'm writing is in assembly with multiple files 'included' in the main file. The Cygnal IDE is still in progress, so it doesn't handle the multiple files as easily as a single file. What that means is that to set a break point, or to find an error, I need to look at the list file to find the actual address instead of being able to double click on the error message, etc... I havn't used a C compiler with it, but it is supposed to support them with debugging, and they have an app note on that. If you build from scratch, make sure to include the JTAG connector (10 pin IDE connector). Cygnal provides an emulator to connect to this--I think that the price is $65 alone, or included in the $99 evaluation board. I hope that this helps. Best Regards, Josh |
