Hello again

Needs some ramp tweaking, but I think I can get more. Not that I do that kind of speed in my application, just seeing what it'll do :)

I have gone through your thread about L6506 and would be considering those points mentioned. I might actually have to use that eventually but I would like to keep circuit simple (which i think is highly unlikely in my application :( )
I have hooked togther a chopper circuit using L297 & L298. the motor works and works fine i would say, there is no noise, no vibration. But the maximum speed I could get to is 120rpm if I try to increase speed by decreasing clocking delay, motor just stops and makes low noise. I am running the motor at 12VDC and have put 10 ohm (2W) resistor in series with the phase.Vref is 2.11V. When motor is running on 120rpm the 10 Ohm resistor gets very very hot after 5mins. Though tempreture of L298 is better and is not even warm.

Now my question is how can I achieve high speed using same circuit. Please advice. I have searched 8052.com and have read threads dating back to year 2000 but have not found a particualr example explaining achieving higher speeds with stepper.

I would really really appreciate any assistance.

Regards
James
