Hi James,
You shouldn't need the current limiting resistor with the chopper setup. The idea behind the chopper is to be able to use a higher voltage than the motor is rated at to get the current up as fast as possible, it's even more important the faster you want to go. The resistor is just slowing you down and wasting power (in heat). Jon |
