#120261 - the REAL issue
Responding to: ???'s previous message
the REAL issue is that when watchdogs are discussed, inevetibly it comes up "can it save my butt when I have a program error?" the answer is a resounding NO.

The purpose of watchdog is NOT to pernit you to be sloppy, it is there to prevent dangerous happenings when ESD or other impossible to protect against events happen.

It can be stated this way: if you think you need a watchdog, you should not include a watchdog, you need to fix your code.

someone compared the watchdog to a fire extinguisher "you do not want to be without it and you do not want to ever use it"
