  • the application shall be as stable as possible WITHOUT using WD (both in SW and HW)
  • it depends on application, whether WD shall be used or not (criteria subject to discussion); and if yes, consider "core dump"-like action on WD trigger to facilitate problem backtracking and debugging
  • if WD is used at all, try to use as good WD as possible (as many points from my list as possible - this includes not only the WD itself, but also how it is used)
  • don't use a WD just because it is there in the micro you use. Think.
