sounds equal the J1587 problem discussed on the AVR forum some time ago.

My suggestion:
Use an external interrupt to detect the next start bit and the T1 interrupt to count down from 160 to detect that the byte time was finished.


But I would prefer other serial protocols, which not need such circumstances. Also I know no other UART, which support it.

Is there really any considerable use of J1587 or J1708 ? And which baudrates must be served ?
