... and when the mcu has realized it needs attention, the buffer is probably filled up with many bytes already. Then I get them out as fast as the mcu can and as many as possible. How does the mcu "realize it needs attention"? By having an external interrupt triggered, perhaps? And in that interrupt, wouldn't you check (read: poll) the handshake line if there are more bytes available? Doesn't it sound familiar?... :-) JW |
