Hi Jeff,
Here's the first thing I think of when asking what I would use this Z-directive for. If I want to optimize a piece of code, but not enough that I would go to the trouble of writing it in assembler, then I could use the Z-directive to test various compilations for minimum machine cycles. I might compare various compilations of the same compliler with different settings, or I might compare different compilers with similar settings. I might even compare different implementations or algorithms with the same compiler and settings. I vote Yea! This would be a handy tool to a developer. Joe |
