RS-485? ... Indeed, this requires additional pin and arbitrage workaround...
no need to use RS-485, you can connect the pins directly. Of course arbitrage will still be required. However, he stetes that he only want to broadcast to the slaves, in which case a direct connection and no arbitrage will do just fine unless, of course, the slaves are to speak to the master as well.
