In your case, quite probably the ground problem isnt enough of a problem to cause major issues - it's still there, just not (you hope) to a significant degree. But you did mention proximity to fluourescent lamps: even with only a few feet of cable, they could produce quite a lot of noise on an unbalanced signal - irrespective of grounding issues... |
