Would it not be simpler to just use an 8051-derivative with two UARTs, and use the multiprocessor mode?
Plenty of 2-UART 8051-derivatives exist: http://www.keil.com/dd/search_parm.asp It'd save on pins, too! Remember that SPI was never designed for connections between equipments... Neither was I2C, but there are now driver/buffer chips available: http://www.standardics.nxp.com/literatur...ca9600.pdf http://www.standardics.nxp.com/literature/i2c/ dunno if any of them could be pressed into service, or if you could just switch to I2C instead? |
