"the MSTR bit in SPCR determines the direction of MISO and MOSI." I am strapped for time on this project and was hoping MISO and MOSI would give me a simple code solution to allow a master controller to communicate with some slaves. But at the most all I need is 8 bits of data from the slaves to accomplish all of the communications necessary. And this data does not have to be at some high data rate. How about some optoisolators and OC drivers to accomplish this communications link. The master sends a low to the slave on one line. Then it sends 8 on / off "clock" bits on another line. On the clock line rise the data line from the slave is either a one or a zero giving me my 8 bit read. I can't use the RS232 link because I am using that to communicate with a EZ-LCD display bolted to the back of my board. |
