Yes, you may gain a bit of ease, but in all cases I have tried you lose flexibility and some capacities.

I have had some thoughts about the IDEiocy and realized that if, indeed, and IDE could do what you can do without it, it would become so cumbersome that nobody would use it.
Thus your choice is be limited and 'easy' or be flexible and fast.
