very often??? OK, I guess that if any, miracously, happen to 'work', they do not result in a post here. I once asked a highly regarded manufacturers engineer "why do you not release programming specifications any more", the answer was (paraphrased - it was a while ago) "off the record, we have, again and again, been blamed for flash losses that turned out to be due to marginal 'programming force' by a kitchen table programmer and these complaints take our support staff so much time because nobody will accept the failure is in their programmer (the chip got programmed 'correctly') thus we have taken the consequence and only release this info to certified programmer manufacturers" The above, obviously, was related to parallel programming, but why would it not be true for "stupid, ridiculous, handmade " serial programmers that "very often do violate the programming specifications" Erik |
