c' is considered by most to be cryptic I agree. For me C is a "write only" language. Richard Ries said:
There are two things I find annoying.
The first is that the text on the site is the same for messages as advertisements. This makes it VERY hard to follow, and differentiate between what I want and the ads. The second is that the documentation is not bundled together. Why should I spend my time opening information, and then copying it, and saving it to my computer? ESPECIALLY if I am not sure I want to use the software in the first place? I would suggest you bundle the docs in with the download. Use subfolders to group similar concepts together, if you must. --Rich Yes, I agree. I have decided to offer Turbo51 for free. Therefore I would like to have some compensation for this. And I have decided to sell advertising space on web pages. I agree that it is sometimes annoying, but remember: you get the compiler for FREE! This is never annoying, isn't it? I would like to hear your comments after you will have some experience with it. Regarding the docs: I agree again. I will prepare a PDF document with complete documentation immediately after I will finish some urgent features I would like to implement like OMF object file import and various calling conventions (to use existing libraries written in "cryptic" C). Thanks to everybody for comments. At the end a brief explanation how I started to develop Turbo51. 10 years ago I purchased the KSC Pascal compiler. What a useless and buggy software with inefficient generated code that was! I sent them lots of emails complaining about bugs in generated code. Not a single answer from them! At that time I decided to write my own compiler. And here it is. Igor |
