I think, Ijaz was still right.

Maybe you overlooked his posting, since you tell not, if you check his suggestions for the EA and the Reset pin.

I connect always EA directly to VCC, exact as the data sheet tells.

Also you can try, if a manual reset works. In such a case your crystal starts to slow or a different reset threshold can cause, that the power on reset was finished to fast.
