Uhhhh... You know, I seriously hadn't thought of that. Why would you remove a good part? The only reasons I can think of are to scavenge specialty parts off of old boards and to update boards by switching parts.
I was just bothered by the fact that I can't get parts off of boards without destroying the part and/or the board. Plus I'm still a student, so I don't like the idea of sawing off the legs of a $40 chip that still works. Thats a lot of beer. I actually don't drink beer, so maybe thats 512MB of ram for my computer.. - Lee |
