#41007 - Using 8051 as I²C peripheral |
Hi people,
Here in France, some I²C peripherals are quit expensive. For example, a PCF8574 is about 6 euros (6$) for one part. Does it sounds good to you to replace this chip by a 8051 derivative which may be more cost effective. Moreover, it could be possible to add some more cleaver functions inside... Do you see any industrialization issue in this method ? If not, I don't see how Philips could maintain these I/O chips if it's cheaper to use a micro ? Waiting for your comments. Regards Stephane |
