The emulated PCF8574 was to illustrate...
Even though it should be more cost effective to build a 16-bits expander with a uC than using two PCF....
Bit all comments are welcome. In some cases, it could be appreciable to design a customized I²C device (LCD driver, Keyboard driver, 16 or more bits expander, PWM outputs, and so on...)

Of course the industrialisation cost has to be taken into account.
