It will work, well ENOUGH, but it won't work at its MAXIMUM POSSIBLE, that is all the difference we are saying. By the time you set up your system, and take account the integration effect of solar heating water, your system is fine for you. In the UK even folks use fixed solar panels on their roofs and get reasonable "return" on the investment.

Also the amount the sun moves in the sky depends on your latitude - up here at +53, it moves A LOT. We get not much more than 8 hours of daylight in Winter. Sunrise in december 8:19 Sunset 15:52. Sunrise in June 4:48 Sunset 21:40 !
