USB in the form of the Cygnal F32x device could be an option,and there are interrupt driven examples to get you going..
The datasheet for the F32x states it has a USB2 controller (so it may run at the 480mbs of USB2).
Obviously you PC will need to support usb2 aswell ,but usb2 cards are dirt cheap now (if not already built into most new motherboards)
