#44715 - RE: High Speed Communications Suggestion Responding to: ???'s previous message |

------------------------------- Your original thread seems to focus on "high speed communication". In my experiences, people going for TCP/IP, Bluetooth or CAN is because of "connectivity" not "speed" per se. I have seen people putting TCP/IP module in between a LAN and an 8051 device. The connection between this 8051 device and the TCP/IP module is still at 9600 baud. In that sense, do we really improve the speed? You are probably talking about the Ethernet/RS-232 converters, that interface to the serial port of the 8051. The modules I were talking about are attached as a parallel memory device, and can transmit data at speeds as high as 3Mb/s, depending on the speed of the µc. So I would call that "high speed".
