not dead, just a different market.
microchip is very cheap, a simpler architecture (easier for the novice), so I think that they are gaining in shipments due the hobby market and appliances that even a 8051 is too much. don´t forget the market for playstation "modchips" that are 12c508. They sell millions of playstations that are "modded" by the users :-) |
