#50320 - AVR better than PIC
Responding to: ???'s previous message
For small applications I found a better way than using the PIC:

The new AVRs are small, cheaper, ISP Flash and avoid all the disadvantages of the PICs. The AVR support:

- linear non banked RAM / Flash
- real stack with PUSH / POP
- separate interrupt vectors
- DB statement

Some Members:

ATTINY13: 8 pin / 6 IO
ATTINY26: 20 pin / 16 IO
ATTINY2313: 20 pin / 18 IO
ATMEGA8: 28 pin / 23 IO

All these are also available in DIP case for easy development.

Unfortunately the Philips LPC are not reprogrammable or runs not on 5V. Thus I must switch to the AVRs for small applications.
