To your text. I think it's not pure information, but just propaganda or advertisement. It remembers me those ridiculous loudspeaker tests in HIFI magazines. There are so many tests with so many various combinations of participants, that each loudspeaker is at least one time test champion, equally what good it really is.
Do always think about, who is profiting from such a publication. Then, you will understand why you shall read, what you read.

So, don't worry, for me and many others 8051-series is the most important mcu line, when dealing with some complexer applications. But I can also understand, why people use PICs...
