#51416 - RE: interrogating the 8052 chip Responding to: ???'s previous message |
Hi,
If I've well understood, your test equipment should be able to check the software version and configuration of your 8052 board. If this is correct, then a common way to achieve this is to store in a non volatile memory such Flash or EEprom a software identification number. This will be a identifier allowing you to recognize the software implemented. Then, your test equipment should read this part of memory. The common way is to code in the 8052 a routine which can return the Identifier when a specific request is sent on RS232 from the test equipment This can be achieved by a simple command line interpreter as described on my website (see URL in my profile) This is the way used by automotive manufacturers for example to check the good software and parameters have been downloaded in the Electronic Control Units. By checking all the software numbers and parameters numbers, the whole configuration of the vehicle is checked. Regards Stephane |
