A little vague? It appears that some of my message was lost with that incomplete sentance.

1. I invert the wr' line so that it is now active high
2. I output a specific bit on the P2 line (one P2 bit per latch)
3. I AND these together to act as an enable for the desired latch
4. When I look at the input on the latch at the time that the enable is active I see the DPL value (at the moment 00). The output reflects the input.
5. A software simulator (From Needham Electronics) shows that the MOVX works properly as coded (I use the simulator to verify code before putting it on-board).
6. My DryICE emulator (from HiTech Equipment) exhibits the same behavior even though it is not connected to my circuitry, it is running my SW in its own little world. Whe I look at the RAM pointed to by the DPTR it shows the value of the DPL.

As I said it has to be something stupid that I'm just missing.
