1) I know of no chip using WR, all I know use !WR. What is your inverter doing?. Which RAM chip are you using. The '51 generates !WR.
2)The latch should latch on ALE
3) as mentioned in my former posting, if no memory is connected, you will read lsb of address. Most emulator does not have RAM, are you reading air?
4)your program in posting 1 does not write, it reads.
