Yes:

The Triscend part is not cheap - so if you need something really small & cheap, it would not be a good choice!

If, like Steve, you find off-chip flash unaccceptable, that would also rule out the Triscend.

However, the sheer flexibility and debuggability of the E5 make it an excellent development platform - even if your final target is something else.
Similar can be said of Cygnal (and Michael often says it), but I think the E5 wins on flexibility here (yes, Charles, that was a personal opinion).
