#57898 - RE: Powerful core or PLD/CSL? Responding to: ???'s previous message |
Oleg:
Cygnal chips have some minor problems I guess....you can find some info on the Cygnal discussion forum. However in general the chips are very carefully designed, fabricated and characterized before Cygnal releases the chips. I have found no cases in the usage of Cygnal chips in my projects where a part worked different from the way the data sheet described. There have been issues where something was not clear regarding some operational characteristics and sending an email to Cygnal tech support get you an answer. Many times the same day!! Keep in mind that I have not tried the analogue peripherals in a manner to try to use full accuracy out of a 12-bit A/D or 12-bit D/A. This is an area where there may be some issues I have not "doscovered" yet. Atmel on the other hand has been known release parts for design-in before a full 100% characterization has been completed. Does this mean that Atmel uses the developer group as part of their part characterization team?? Michael Karas |
