I recently completed design of an 8052-based project. When testing, about 5 PC boards out of 50 failed to work. Problem was traced to missing bypass cap near a MAX-233. I'd say that the answer to your question depends on overall board layout, as well as the number and kinds of parts on the board! -Ron |
