Well,now I feel old!
Thyratrons are still used extensively in my field.I work with high energy linear accelerators for radiotherapy treatment.For a 25 Megavolt accelerator you discharge up to 1200 Amps through the thyratron and pulse transformer to develop a 4 microsecond pulse into a magnetron at 52kV and 225 Amps.Should handle anything mahmood might require.
