If Paul wants to go retro with computer input devices why not paper tape? There was 7 parallel bits if I remember correctly and there's probably tonnes of free hardware to read and write this defunct medium. Why you would want to go retro is beyond me? Robots are supposed to be leading edge! Even LEGO uses infrared comms whereas one could cheaply implement WIFI for a bit of hi-tech cachet. How come we're still using 8051's??? (tongue firmly in cheek here!) |
