I appreciate your input Kai.
I have a few questions. By using the floating point limiter that you have drawn does that take U8 out of the circuit? The 100R trimmer that could be a fixed value once tests are done correct? Right now the board is all surface mount and I am not aware of heatsinks avaliable for a DN2540N8 in the surface mount package. Is the heatsink necessary for Q2? I see there are surface mount 1W resistors out there in 0815 packages. What do you think about making the circuit isolated with a 1000V isolated between ground in this circuit and the ground the customer hooks up on pin 10? Of course that would add a lot of circuitry, space and cost but then everything would be floating. Joe |
